Fashions of Wind

by HarryT

Wind curls about me
Cool fingers touch my neck
I lift my collar and think
Where do you come from?
What are you all about?

During summer you are welcome
In winter, you can be so cruel
Through spring you blow squalls,
In fall you ruffle Jack’s vibrant art

You are so many things
Both pleasant and so mean...

Gentle breezes caressing lovers,
Hurricanes battering the shore
Driving blizzards freezing us in
Bringer of rain for flora and fauna

Truly you are of many modes
Sometimes you are welcome
Other times it would be better
If you blew not at all
