Why we need...

Mariah

by Boogienights

They call the wind Mariah,
although I'm not sure why.
Still, the name seems fitting,
as it blows across the sky.

A gentle wind caresses,
a fierce wind destroys,
and one that comes with raindrops
on hot days can bring us joy.

Without wind sailboats would still,
and kites would stay earthbound.
It's absence would be noticed,
we'd miss that familiar sound.

Without the wind seas wouldn't move,
the warm moist airy breeze
wouldn't spread and lakes would dry,
and the earth's two poles would freeze.

So you see, wind is essential
and helps the earth to thrive.
But most of all, Mariah...
Makes me feel more alive.
