Shadows of the Past

by Dolly'sPoems

The shadows of the past come back to haunt,
in waves of sorrow-- loss has silent signs;
those memories are living inside thought
and triggered by a tangled web of vines.

The history each one of us creates,
is vibrant, and controls, whilst we are here;
and once inside the grave, our life abates,
forgotten is our word, and nothing's clear.

So celebrate your memory, it's fine--
as life means we remember those we've lost;
the cycle means we all are gone in time,
so celebrate your love before the frost.

We are but shadows stained in history,
so make the most of life's simplicity.
