My magical garden

Where Flowers grew

by Willie P. Smith

When I was a boy, I played for hours
In a large field covered with flowers.

Flowers of all colors with dandelions too.
They spread their seeds when the winds blew.

My own private flower bed, growing in the sun
A place to play, a place for fun.

As time passes things start to change.
What we took for granted now seems strange.

The flowers are all gone now, the field is bare.
The beauty that once was is no longer there.

It was my magical place, I once knew.
A place I loved where flowers grew.
