A roundabout poem for the Potlatch challenge

Child of Love

by June Sargent

Though you are gone, there's no despair

Sweet memories I keep

Our child of love

Gift from above

Sweet memories I keep

Our love was strong and it ran deep

The future looked so bright

But Death stepped in

We could not win

The future looked so bright

Eternal bond of love is tight

The joy outweighs the grief

I shed some tears

Allay my fears

The joy outweighs the grief

Our time together was too brief

A love affair so rare

I took a leap

'Cross mountain steep

A love affair so rare
