Faith on Facts

My Faith is based on what I see
“Faith on Facts” – that’s it for me.
Mere words written by men long ago,
I don’t dispute, but I just don’t know…
 
My Faith sees babies, of animal or man,
So similar – there has to be a plan!
The feeling of love, happiness it brings.
Interdependence among all living things.

 Planets, all round, not accidental, say I!
How they spin in orbit through the sky.
Our ability to adapt and to invent -
Can't be random. Must be Heaven sent.
 
Illnesses, pain? We work hard to cure
That’s His design, of that I am sure.
Our natural tendencies for fun, laughter,
Our drive toward whatever we’re after...
 
These are proofs of this Faith of mine,
That I live among them, the bottom line.
I do not doubt the Bible, no indeed!
But, Faith on Facts – that’s what I need.

My Faith contest entry


In the autumn of my life, I become less certain of what I have heard or read, but of what I observe in the world around me. It all is so amazing that I could never believe it was just "natural selection" - that would take a level of "faith" I do not have, but rather a level of trust that there was, is and will be a plan forever and ever.
