I just finished watching the new Ken Burns documentary on Ernest Hemingway. The artist who wrote A Farewell to Arms, The Old Man and the Sea and so many brilliant short stories spent his last months unable to form even one of those brilliant sentences which had earned him worldwide acclaim.
