Lord

I am lonely

this pandemic has cast 

me into a vast darkness

I

am searching for

my friends and family

desperate for a real hug

still

after a year

it is necessary

for us to remain in masks

love

incapable

of being personal

feels shallow and out of reach

You

can provide peace

when I get on my knees

asking Your divine presence

Who

else but You, Lord,

can dismiss my longings

by providing me comfort

will

anything on earth

expose my fears as lies

or turn my doubts into truths

never

have I been left

alone to fight any

battles without my Jesus

let
 

others see you

as the way, truth, and life

so they, too, can be set free

darkness

will no longer

provide companionship

as our Savior will always

win
