Kyrielle Poetry

Forest beckons

by JLR

While strolling toward nearby lake.
with sun shining bright for my sake.
the surroundings made my legs quake.
I heard a tree whisper ... mistake.

I heard a tree whisper ... mistake.
On the lake a boat made a wake,
making rippling waves seem opaque.
wanting more than I could partake!

stiff winds making the forest shake.
I just wanted to take a break,
I heard a tree whisper ... mistake,
The forest floor was my task to rake.

The forest I could not forsake!
I heard a tree whisper ... mistake.
I turned and walked with a heartache.

My love of trees I can not fake
