The Homeless Man's Dream
by Sanku
The street light threw shadows on the pavement.
The homeless man waited.
She would soon come in her tattered green skirt.
Thought of melting her anger
Made him smile.
In his mud spattered backpack
He felt the bar of chocolate
Salvaged from under a park bench-
His surprise for her.
Shivering as a chill wind tickled him
He gently snoozed
Dreaming of her warmth and smell
When the morning sounds woke him
He was still alone.
