My Favorite Season

My snowman soon will be a memory,
and robin's songs fill warming air with cheer.
My longing heart knows that it soon will be
The season I have waited for all year.

A bat cracks balls, a noise I love to hear;
Leather, dust and sweat scents waft 'round my nose;
Repeatedly, the slap of ball in mitt;
The cheering of our fans just grows and grows.

I'll run and throw and catch and feel so free!
