A Young Girl's Innocent Journey

Life is a dream
Especially when fantasized by a young girl
Who dreams oftentimes nightly of El Zorro
Guy Williams, handsome man; strong voice
Yes, truly it was I who made him my choice

Life is a dream imagined
Mysterious masked fencer and swordsman
Defender of Mexican peasants and citizens
Unshackled me various times in my dreams
I was thus in love with him; or so it seemed!

Life is a dream of longing
Just nine or ten years old; an untainted age
He, a former model; with six- foot tall frame
Along with very remarkable dark brown eyes
I longed to stand beside him in his disguise

Life is a dream of contemplation
Today while considering my youthful naivety
I know these feelings were not of puppy love
These dreams were a young girl's safe illusion
Changes brought on by puberty, my conclusion

Life is a dream of today
Looking back on my former dreams of El Zorro
I know today prepared me for my current love
Various innocent dreams with many a theme
Primed me for my knight; life is truly a dream
