Portmanteau - real or invented word writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt Compose any 5-7-5 syllable poem with a real or invented word that is a portmanteau. The verse may be funny or serious. The author?s note should define the word if the word used in your poem is an invented or made-up word. Wikipedia citation: A portmanteau, a kind of luggage (in French: mot-valise), is a blend of words in which parts of multiple words are combined into a new word, as in smog, coined by blending smoke and fog, or motel, from motor and hotel, or brunch from breakfast and lunch. |
Solidtude is a word not yet included in any dictionary.
Solidtude is the strong feeling one gets from solitude (or being alone in the cold) or meditating about Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862 at Concord, Massachusetts) and his winter writings at Walden Pond, or touching the hard surface of any frozen pond deep in the woods.
