My Valentine is the...

Best Gift Ever

Valentines Day Contest Winner 
When I first met my Valentine,
he gave me flowers, sweet red wine,
boxed candy too, so rich and sweet.
In short, he swept me off my feet.

As months went by, still holding hands,
excitedly we made our plans.
Romance was there, a little less,
which caused me a bit of distress.

Reminders then had to be made,
he'd recall special dates, I prayed.
Time passed fast since our connection,
love proclaimed, yet less affection.

More years passed, I'm still his wife,
he's given me a lovely life.
Not real romantic, that's okay,
I'm glad I married him that day.

Worth more then flowers, candy, wine,
his gentle touch, his love divine.
The conversations that we share,
knowing my best friend's always there.

Just find a heart that's always true,
you've found the perfect one for you.
I still like flowers and all the rest,
but loving him is the very best.
