A colorful show
Joyous Skies
A gentle rain falls from the sky,
like tears from angels up on high.
It nourishes our earth below,
and when it slows, a rainbow glows.
Red, orange, yellow, green, and blues,
indigo and violet hues.
Arching wide across the sky,
it's beauty we can not deny.
Light and raindrops both combine,
to make an art show so sublime
that those who see it can't help smile,
it eases troubles for awhile.
Set at it's end, a pot of gold?
As leprechauns always foretold?
Great riches that are worth their weight,
to find them we would celebrate.
For now though, we bask in the show,
its colors sets our hearts aglow.
Rainbows don't stay, they dissipate,
who knows how long we'll have to wait.
But Spring rains, they come by and by,
colors again will arch through sky.
Then happily gazing from below,
we'll stand in awe of God's rainbow.
