Respite Thy Mind To Warm Islands

by Reese Turner

When thou goest to an island venture
Doth thou focus solely upon the sea?
Nay, that would be a foolish adventure;
The island’s the main point, the sea not be!

And so it is with these months of winter -
Why focus on the cold, wet, ice and snow?
On things of misery, do not center
Thou’s attention whenst thru thy winter go.

Rejoice in the good warm days between cold
As you’d rejoice in island sands and life.
Waste not a moment inside when sun’s bold
Rays shine between days of old winter’s strife.

     Never miss moments of break from the freeze.
     Walk, bask warm days - sweet poultice to please!
