I Wonder...

by Leann DS

I wonder what I'm going to do.
On Monday I start school. Yippie!
I hope I make a friend or two.
I wonder what I'm going to see.

I wonder what I'm going to see.
Desks and seesaws and Show and Tell,
A school bus and a Hook for me?
I wonder what I'm going to smell.

I wonder what I'm going to smell.
Paper, crayons, chalk words erased,
A baking cake? It's hard to tell.
I wonder what I'm going to taste.

I wonder what I'm going to taste.
A candy treat from teacher dear?
Baloney or perhaps some paste?
I wonder what I'm going to hear.

I wonder what I'm going to hear.
The school bell's clang,a playtime squeal,
A friendly "hi," or mean kid's sneer?
I wonder what I'm going to feel.

I wonder what I'm going to feel.
Scared, excited, and nervous too.
At last, I'll be grown up for real!
I wonder what I'm going to do.
