Tossing grief away

Cathartic

One day when I was feeling low,
and walking alone by the sea.
I started thinking of my life,
and what's important to me.

Daylight started to fade away,
the moon and stars came in view.
As darkness brushed the canvas above,
all of my thoughts turned to you.

Building a future together,
we thought love would never end.
But you gave your heart to another,
I miss you my lover and friend.

Now there's a question unanswered,
someone in this world just might know.
How do you mend broken pieces,
created when you had to go?

A found soda bottle held my question,
I threw it as far as I could.
Some day somebody would find it,
as it drifted away, I felt good.

All of my pain and my heartache,
floated away out to sea.
Now I was done with the sorrow,
I was finally set free.

Someday my bottle will wash up,
somewhere on a distant shore.
My question, the finder might ponder,
As for me? I am troubled no more.

A gentle rain began to fall,
exhilarating and cool.
It woke me up from my reverie,
my thoughts no longer on you.
