Life's Reflection
by Wils
“We lay the dearly departed to the ground.”
I felt a strange sense of loneliness as words were recited. There was barely a handful of people at the funeral; the speckling of family members that wanted anything to do with him and a few associates in the drug underworld, those that weren’t in jail at least.
It was a sad reflection on his life. A path had been laid out and he had taken the other. Be it on your own head, sir.
I faded into nothingness as the service broke up. Attending your own funeral can be very depressing.
