Grumpy Groundhog Rhymes

by pome lover

Zippedy, zippedy zore
The mouse ran in the door
He found some cheese
But then he sneezed—
The cheese went splat on the floor.

Old Mother Frumpy
Became very jumpy
Like her pet frogs, you see;
One day she awoke,
And could only CROAK
All her friends said, “Oh, dear me!”

All around the Juniper bush
The puppy chased the kitten
The puppy said t’was all in fun,
“OW!”, he got bitten.

Lumpty Mumpty fell from a branch
Lumpty ripped a hole in his pants;
All his mom’s enemies
All his mom’s friends
Could not sew the hole, so
They used safety pins.

Jake Flake could eat no eggs
His wife could eat no bacon
And so, betwixt them both, you see
Each other’s food got taken.

Little Boy Blue come blow your whistle
The Poodle’s in the pond,
And the Pug’s in the thistle;
Where’s the young scalawag
Who watches the dogs?
Over in the pig pen, playing with the hogs!
