Two strangers who were...

Meant to Be

When walking through the park one sunny day,
a leafy canopy above my head,
I saw a brown eyed angel walk my way,
we spoke, but I'm not quite sure what I said.

Did I say "Hi?", "Nice day?", "The weather's good?",
Don't know for sure, my mind was quite unclear.
Would he respond to me?, I hoped he would.
That I would go unnoticed, was my fear.

But then he turned and smiled brilliantly,
his lovely light, a rival to the sun.
A dream had walked my way, this I could see,
the feelings he evoked, can't be outrun.

Then he reached out his hand and spoke his name,
and when our fingers touched, I felt a shock.
Could this be fate, and life won't be the same?
I wished time would be kind and stop the clock.

For when our eyes met, it was then I knew,
and I could see it in his eyes as well.
Two strangers met and found something that's true,
the start of something special, we could tell.

Now through the park we both walk hand in hand,
nothing exists except for him and me.
Excited for the future we have planned,
it's crystal clear, fate meant for us to be.
