Acrostic poem for the contest

Summer Blues

by June Sargent

Snowed in for six long months

Unyielding winds roar day and night

Making and eating comfort food as

Memories of spring bring smiles

Envisioning my sleeping bulbs

Revived by warming temperatures

Blue irises blooming once again

Ladies dressed in satin gowns

Uplifting spirits that were down

Exquisitely take center stage

Supplanting chilly winter blues
