I just cannot quite figure out

I've tried to be creative and
I've tried to be profound;
I've tested out some silliness,
But I'm a scalded hound.

I've written about covid...
I've penned a piece on birds...
I've tried my hand at politics...
And spoke of talking turds.

My story about hunting ducks
Was not too well received...
I thought my popcorn poem was
A winner. So deceived!


I'm starting to get frustrated.
I'm running out of stuff.
But I just love to write too much.
I just can't get enough!

So I will not give up just yet.
I have much more to learn.
But I am running low on points,
So can it be my turn?
