Any Pet Will Do

I think I need to get a dog.
He'd be my bestest friend.
I'd feed him and I'd take him out
But Mom can't comprehend.

I think I need to get a cat.
So soft and cuddly.
I'd pet her and I'd bring her mice,
But Mom won't let it be.

I think I need a guinea pig.
I'll train him to run mazes.
I'll water him and clean his cage.
Mom's eyebrow just a'raises.

I think I need to get a lizard
I'll bring her grapes and flies.
She can run around my room,
But Mom won't compromise.

I think I need to get a snake.
He'll be so calm and quiet.
I'll let him coil around my arm,
Mom thought that was a riot.

She will just swim around.
I'll watch her fins go back and forth,

Pet that I would like to have
