I See Mama

by elainec4

Glancing quickly, I pass the mirror.
And suddenly, I see Mama.
For many years, I saw me.
Now, at age seventy,
I see silver hair.
I see wrinkles.
My mama
looks at
me.

Mirror Poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
We look in the mirror everyday. What do we see when we see ourselves? Write a poem about what you see when you look in the mirror. It can be as straightforward or abstract as you'd like. Creative responses and free-form poems are encouraged.

I used the nonet form--nine lines of descending syllables--from nine down to one.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
