Colour Makes Life Brighter

by tempeste

The very idea to wake up
to a world without hues
gives me the blues..

In a world tinted in shades of grey
there'd be no stunning Autumn
reds, oranges or yellows;
no golden fields nor verdant meadows
just sinister shadows.

In a colourless world there'd be
no dazzling red Valentinos*
nor chic matching stilettos
to woo the fellows.

Without gingers, blondes or brunettes
how dull life would get.

No turquoise waterfalls
no lilac sunrises nor crimson sunsets.

The beauty of a rainbow cross darken skies
would remain an unknown surprise.

Without colours, flowers
would lose much of their
enchantment and spell-bound power.

Birds without their vivid plumage
would have little to say or to display.

In our lives colour plays
a vital role for it feeds our soul;
it can sway moods, fuel actions,
 cause reactions.
It’s a means of expression.

A world without hues
is a world without emotions.
