Next Time

by HarryT

Awoke in the morning, the clock said three
Eyes up, there a ghost standing over me
She was shrouded in a gauzy blue fog
So scary I grabbed my toy puppy dog

Held him and squeeze him so with all my might
But that didn't help lessen my awful fright
Fear oiled my throat, I was afraid so bad
Opened my mouth and tried to call for Dad

No sound came out, so I jumped out of bed
Slipped on the floor and banged my fearful head
Glanced-- the ghost disappeared into thin air
I am going to Dad to share my scare

Mind made up next time a ghost comes to leer
I'll call Dad to banish my creepy fear
