Muffin Top

Yummy treats, sweet cakes with cream
These Covid months I have Indulged
But when I went to put jeans on
They didn't fit my sides they bulged.

Oh No! I have a muffin top
Where once my waist was lean and thin,
This overhang the mirror showed
To me this look should not be seen.

But now I know that nibbling chocs
Most every night while in lockdown,
Would add the Covid kilos on
And I would thicken all around.

My programmed exercise has stopped
Instead my lazy bones poke out,
Combined with boredom eating plans
No wonder I'm becoming stout.

So! from today my plans will change
I want my jeans to fit real neat,
The weight now on I will take off
This muffin top I will defeat.

I will resist those yummy treats
For exercise go back to gym,
I'll count my cal'ries every day
Cut out the carbs and fatty things.

So next time when I try those jeans
They'll slip right on without a care,
The zip and buttons will do up
No bulging belly anywhere.

And when I pass the lolly jar
I'll fight the urge to lift the lid,
'Cause when my muffin top is gone
I'll be so thankful that I did.
