Jester at the Renaissance Faire

I tip this mug o' brew to Willy Shakes,
and eye the bosoms pouring from these frocks.
I prithy pray these wenches grant me breaks,
for ‘round me swagger lords with princely cocks--

who've raised a ribald yearning for a romp,
with maiden fare politely cleaved, of course,
in truly classic style and English pomp …
approached but soft and mounted like a horse.

But even here the King it seems has juice.
I’m brushed aside as though a servile serf.
His staff, it seems, her syrup soon to sluice;
while I am left to tend to my own turf.

When home again, I shall regain my throne,
but at this faire this jester shant’ get blown!

Well ... Kind of Shakespearean. These faires are a lot of fun and a good excuse to get drunk and buy revealing outfits for your ladies. Shakespeare wouldn't be writing Shakespearean sonnets today, why should we?
