Chapter 21
Waves of Longing

I hear them
the waves crashing on the rocky shore

Sounds akin to the emotions
you left ...within me

Pounding unceasingly

making no headway

Tearing at the shoreline
of my ragged heart

Will the tide ever turn?

Will peace ever find me?

Your love was that for me
a sleepy cove
 with tides of love
lapping gently on the shore

Return me
 to that idyllic place
ease my suffering ...I beg you!

Chapter 22
The Pirate's Mistress

Sails are tight,

the wind rushing us on our way

I looked at you standing at the helm,

 quietly keeping her into the wind

I feel the mistress here,

 your heart is hers,

I the stolen moments.


Your barking orders send men scurrying,

 you’re in your element

The sounds of the rigging,

 the ship cutting through the waves

 salty spray, all part of a Pirates life,

My Pirate.

When your spell at the wheel is done,

 you give her to another

coming to me for a lil' while.

I cherish these times …few as they are

For it's then that those hands

 that steered us straight and true

Now, drive me insane.

The lips that moments ago barked orders,

 now whisper words of love

 into the softness of my neck

Oh, Pirate, my pirate,

 take me to paradise

You chart the course on my body

with your hands and lips

Anchor here ...in the solitude of my love.

Mirror Image

I believe in telling the truth, you avoid it at all costs.

I have hope for a better tomorrow, you live only for today.

Inside my heart also resides forgiveness, this my final gift to you.

Pirate of Dreams

As the moon rises and the wind howls
my comfort comes to me in an image of you,

Tall dark and mysterious, a pirate of dreams,
You sail through my mind on the breath of my love

Your course straight, heart true.
My love the only treasure you seek.

I gaze at the stars, your compass, 
knowing you are on your way home to me.

At times alone at night, I wonder … will it happen for me?

I see it displayed everywhere

In the movies, in song lyrics, on Hallmark cards,

In the looks that pass between two people

The one whose arms I want to lie in night after night,

Love in the Moonlight

There, by the cool clear waters of the river

The blanket of our love is spread 

I stand before you beginning to shiver with 
Heart pounding, raw emotions held in check by a thread

Standing so strong and sure there with the moonlight surrounding you
Eyes as dark as the night
Skin bronze from the sun, strong arms to fall into
Lips soft and full made for only my kisses

The grass under our blanket is soft
Perfect for the consummation of our love
Our bodies entwined, we are lost this night
Passion has us in its embrace

The night is young, the sky lit by moonlight
As we sink to the ground completely lost in one another
We push all doubts aside
As once again … we become lovers

I See You Now

With the opening of that door, you let the light shine in

So I see you now for who and what you are

A collector, yes a collector of dreams, of emotions, of hearts

When firmly in your grasp and the light of love is shining brightly

You suddenly grow cold, distant and gone

You're gone before you see the devastation and heartache caused

Yes, collector, I see you now

I see you over and over every day on social media

Where you ply your skills, your trade of broken hearts and promises

One day you'll meet that perfect woman

She'll flatter your ego, make you feel like the man you see in the mirror

While teasing you with delicious promises of her devotion, her lust

Then when she has you ready to be the fool for love

She'll send you a bill for all the broken hearts you've left behind

As she grows cold, distant then gone.

I wrote this for all the women that have looked to social media for an online love affair. I see it Happen, trust me on that. It happens more than you know. There are women all over the world looking for what's missing in their lives...romance, passion and love. There are men out there that troll just looking.

only the bright, vibrant colors

 of our passion as your palette, outline me with the blackest 

of black to keep me safe within your gaze, the heat of your beating heart 

for the red lusciousness of my lips, brush the canvas of my skin a hue matching 

 your soft magical touch residing therein, paint my large brown eyes with the earthiness 

of your scent, sprinkle flecks of gold in my eyes to reflect my desire 

for you shining through, splash my cheeks rose petal 

pink for the look of satisfaction

It's your face I see

Though naked, I'm unafraid.
Went over all the possible outcomes, 
left them all at the side of the bed. 

Desire for your touch, your kiss,

my knees grow weak.

I slip in beside you,

Let’s do this ballet of romance
 
Countdown the beat with Haiku…now let’s move
Ah… I see you like to groove
 
Swing me into your arms with an Acrostic that spells my name
Spin me with a Sonnet that sets my soul aflame
 
Rondel me with a Rumba beat
Keep the meter right as we move our feet
 

Cha Cha me with a Triolet
We dance 8 lines of love- Ole!
 
Now move with me a fable, our love spun in verse
Ours… a poetry dance for the universe
 

Now pull me in close and kiss me deep 
Seal this dance of love before we sleep

When the tears won't stop, my soul's in knots
You come to me and I open up... you convince me it's not one big plot.

When all I need is a hug and a kiss

Soft, caring and filled with honesty.
 
That word,“honesty” was foreign to me

But, you lived it 
 
Love from you was honest
To be trusted
By my heart 
 
I remember when I knew
I loved you
Almost to the very second 
 
I was lying beside you
My head on your chest
Listening to your heartbeat ...
 
I raised my head

Those gorgeous blue eyes 
 
Saying, with every ounce of my being
