I believe I have a muse
she came into existence,
about the time I joined this site
she majors in persistence.
Kind of like a little kid,
that tugs on Mother's legs.
"How about this?" "Or maybe that?'
whispering,she begs.
So to make her happy,
on my shoulder, she will grin.
"So is this how you figure
the story should begin?"
I don't feel quite so alone
now that I have my muse.
We work together as a team,
and welcome your reviews.

Birds show off
and pose alot,
try to give you
the perfect shot.
Even the sun
as it slowly descends,
seems to pause
as you switch lens.
I track your journey
and where you have been.
Through wonderful photos,
your life in between

An elephant sits in this room,
taking too much space.
I toss him some peanuts,
as the tears run down my face.

Mary Anne was up before dawn to finish her packing. She was on her way to New York to work for 3 months as an au pair. Her aunt had paid for her ticket and would be waiting for her with the three children.
Mary Anne's uncle had died a few months ago.She was looking forward to helping her Aunt, taking the children to school and outings.
Mary Anne would have her own room and plenty of free time to explore New York.
She heard the black cab honk outside.
Her mother was in the kitchen with a note for her sister in America.
A few words of sympathy and a beautiful tea towel from the High Street.
This was a wonderful opportunity for her daughter.
Mary Anne rushed into the kitchen to say good bye.
Mother and daughter hugged one last time and gave each other a loving smile.
'I will write as soon as I arrive, love you.' she promised her Mum.
She ran out the door, excited to begin her new adventure.
"Southhampton docks please" she told the driver as she settled in her seat.
As they drove towards the docks, the early morning air was cool on her face. This was her first trip alone and she hugged herself in delight.
There were so many people on the docks, saying good bye and getting their luggage on board. She could see a group of men walking up the gangplank with their brass instruments reflecting in the sun.
Mary Anne paid the cab driver and stood for a moment, becoming part of the excited bustling and noise around her.
Picking up her bag and head held high, she made her way through the noisy crowd.
As the sun went behind the clouds, she whispered the name...Titanic

Just get a grip, you crazy dog,
running in circles, eyes all agog.
Living for walkies, begging for treats,
relax little buddy, don't try to compete.
I am Feline,
the superior race.
A queen wrapped in fur
Boss of this place.
So little canine
as you start to crouch,
don't cross the line,
and stay off my couch!

I'm feeling royal
in this kingdom of sun.
Following footprints
of Livingston.
The Sun is King
and the Ocean is Queen,
I am the Princess
that lives in between.
A courtyard of sand
warm and so white.
The cross with four corners
that shines every night.
Sassy black crows
bold as can be,
are the court jesters
and they amuse me.
Sleek blue dolphins,
are Princes at play.
Racing and chasing
in emerald bays.
Lime scented breezes
warm ocean spray,
blow through my crown
I'm a princess today.

A day at the circus,
a night at the fair
swirling on rides
wind through my hair.
Sweet as candy floss
fresh as spring air
that's what I feel
with the love that we share.
A parade in the sunshine,
a birthday surprise!
Christmas mornings
a pastel sunrise.
Our love is a carnival
kaleidoscope lights.
I dust off the glitter
when I kiss you goodnight.

Love
travels through our hearts.
Each prayer whispered,
weaves warm and loving blanket blessings.
Author Notes | Thanks to GaliaG for the illustration. Just a poem for those who pray for their loved ones at night. I know my mom prays for me and my sisters. |
