I see Your hand Oh Lord
In the rippling streams
In the formation of the rocks
That house the fossil
However illusive
It may be
I see Your hand Oh Lord
In the colors of the sunset
Stretching from sea to sea
In the colors of the sunrise
As it welcomes the dawning of
Another glorious day
I see Your hand Oh Lord
in the glowing eyes of a child
And in the soft sweet hands of the aged
Their works are known
Nature and life rebirth
Family and friends
I need not look far
to see Your hand Oh Lord
In all creation of life
And breadth to know
Your hand is close enough
To clasp in mine

What do you see
When you look at me
Do you see character to follow
Or a life that's empty hollow
Am I the example I ought to be
When you look at me
Can I hold my head erect
Knowing I'm doing what God expects
When I'm about my daily task
Am I honest or wearing a mask
Can you trust I'm what you see
When you look at me
When I am on my bended knee
What do you see
Do you see a heart that's contrite
Striving always to do what's right
What do you see
When you look at me
Integrity, sincerity, and love I pray
Is what you see in me each day

Oh heartsick souls in need of rest
Arise, and see, that thou art blessed
Lean for succor on His breast
He'll soothe away thy bitterness
Call out to Him on bended knee
As He implores thine heart to see
His life He gave, obediently
Thy dearest friend He wants to be
Dwell here below and free from fear
If thou wilt always keep Him near
In His calm, he'll bring thee cheer
Hold Him close, there's none so dear
When overwhelmed and feeling small
Lift up thine heart and on Him call
Live faithfully, heed not to fall
His love, through grace, will reach us all
At journey's end when thou must leave
For mansions fair, thine to achieve
A crown of life, thou wilt receive
Because, thy soul, dared to believe

Harvest time for the Lord is ongoing for His servants
Fields are golden and are ready, ripened to abundance
When planted carefully, with love, to cover every grain
God will provide the increase, countless as the drops of rain
Each soul will bloom and multiply, to bring more to His side
As ever we press onward, and in His will abide
Do we share the love He gave, and let all know it's free
Or do we keep it to ourselves, and hoard for you and me
Is the Harvest just for us, to enjoy and consume
Not so my friends, in Heaven's house, we're told are many rooms
In that City of Gold, with Pearly Gates, there's naught of time nor space
The Lord of Harvest freely bestows, the gift, of matchless Grace
Harvest time, to mortal souls, mere seasons there are none
The time to sow, the time to reap, in time, life's work is done.
Rest now, ye weary laborers, with sickles laid aside
Rest now, forevermore to live, and with the Lord reside

Almighty strength, don't let me fail
When resolve grows weak, and fears assail
Keep me
ever strong in thee
Before thy throne on bended knee
When my love for mankind falters
And belief in 'good' grows weak
Keep me
Lord,
contrite and humble
And most of all Lord,
Keep me
Meek
Thy whirling world with strife and stress
Is sore beset with sins duress'
Keep me
Ready to confess
Thy holy name o'er all the rest
And finally 'ere life is through
Keep me
ever close to you
Keep me
Secure and out of harm
In the solace of thy loving arms

shades of starlit night
are calling me
to stroll through
softly muted meadows
verdant greens strewn
with flowered majesty
welcome as feet
tred on moonbeam pathways
fragrance wafting
on gentle breezes
sweetly touch my face and hair
permeating the very essense
of my soul
awakened memories filter
through the channels
of my mind
consciously aware
of all that I behold
peace and tranquility
are mine
serenity intertwines
and clings to faith
eternally bound by love
grace speaks clearly
her simple voice to hear
assuring the heart
of her ever-abiding
presense, purpose, and promise
shades of starlit night
are calling me
to stroll through
softly muted meadows

Mercy's Rain
Hearts not touched by love nor pain
Inept to feel sweet Mercy's Rain
Jealousy , hatred , to the core
Kills the soul to live no more
Unfettered grace can but restore
Monstrous greed and evil lurks
Near might and wealth whose duty shirks
Oppressions heavy weight not seen
Poverty and hopeless dreams
Sorrow weeps with silent screams
Quickly come, Oh Lord of Light
Rescue those from life's sad plight
Strengthen hearts to feel no strain
Touched once more with much to gain
When hearts can stand in Mercy's Rain

WIND
I love the wind
You never know where it's going
And never know where it's been
The wind is never absent or never far away
It can sit silently waiting
For all the leaves to get still
then quickly stir them up until
Leaf-laden tree limbs
begin to dance and sway
The wind comes in many forms
A baby breeze, gentle, soft and soothing
Or a gust, and in its wake carrying tumble weeds
Sand and dust
A tornado, hurricane, gale, or a storm
Then can settle and once again
with such a tame and transparent air
prompt children to chase their kites with glee
As the wind blows playfully through their hair
Where is the wind going
And where has it been
Over rock, hills , rivers and seashore
Tall lofty mountains and plains of lush green sod
It's but one more mystery of creation
Known to Him only and will be revealed
When time is no more
By Our Magnificent, Hallowed and
Awesome God

A Hard Shell and a Soft Heart
When we go into the world
To teach what God has said
We must suit up in our armor
When rising from our bed
The lost is all around us
And the world will not receive
How can we reach them Lord
And from Hell their souls retrieve
My armor is not seamless Lord
Sometimes persecution pierces through
But I still should wear it everyday
The Kingdoms work to do
Am I tough, yet loving
Against the daggers of unbelief
Will I teach truth
And in so doing
The sins of the world relieve
Walk with me Lord
Give me a heart
That's always sweet and kind
Help me to love and to forgive
And keep you in my mind
Remind me Lord
Each day I pray
To always do my part
And give me Lord an Armadillo Shell
And a soft Marshmallow heart

The Walk
I took a walk today,
down by the lake,
spring fed
Lying cool in the morning sun.
I walked through trees, tall and stately,
saw wild flowers, a few cattails,
and marveled at what God had done.
The simple things, the path once cleared,
tangled now with creeping vines
Still well marked by someone who knew the way
Inviting all to come, walk this way today.
My thoughts turned to mansions,
beautiful, serene and bright
I walked on in comfort and peace,
blessed by the morning light
Compared to forever
Today took no place
'Twas but a gracious reminder of
His Eternal Embrace

I told you I had to be inspired
No one believed me when I said
That poetry....Like A butterfly
Flits and floats
Within my head
It comes from kindness
Or a thought someone shared
It could be from a sunset
Or acknowledgement someone cared
It could be from a baby
Newborn, soft and sweet
Or a little kitten, a horse, a dog
Or rumbling thunder in retreat
It could be from you
As to me you are made known
It could be from other poetry
Or perhaps a book or song
But I really think God
Blessed me with this gift
Because all good things come from God
Now you get my drift
Don't fail to thank Him for all talents
Use them gratefully and well
For when we get to Heaven
Good works of us He'll tell
And He'll ask us many questions
Of us he will require
Answers to all poetry
Decent, loving, fun
But most of all
'Inspired'

Heavens Door
Hoodie up around her ears
Hiding face and flowing tears
Bruise on cheek from hand's hard blow
Pain and burning in her side
Injuries to deep to hide
Searing soul that leaves no pride
Self esteem is but a word
Silent screams are never heard
Then one day a blow to head
Leaves this child lifeless,
cold and dead
CSI is on the way
Too late to save
Too late to pray
Angel band is waiting near
Will rise with her to
Father dear
Then in heaven
she'll take her place
No more bruises on her face
The gentle spirits
waiting there
Will hold her gently
Stroke her hair
She'll never remember life before
Once she enters
Heaven's door.
By Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens
wretched soul bowed low in prayer
contrite heart approach thy throne
peace and faith love unbound
grace and mercy take us home

self-righteousness much more condemned
humility faith's light to shine
compassion flow thine heart to mine

When
all the rain has fallen
from each cloud up in the sky
When
all the snow has melted
from the mountain peaks so high
When
the last flower has blossomed
in the meadows far and wide
When
the last ebb flows low or high
surging with the ocean tide
When
the rivers, creeks and streams
stop rushing waters to the sea
When
no more leaves are clinging
to grace the tall oak tree
When
the wind concludes her blowing
and whispers soft no more
When
the last sands have sifted
on each distant harbors shore
When
the sunshine has stopped shining
and the moonlight beam has ceased
Then
eternity is just beginning
Oh the bliss of sweet release

The Gate
He met her on the lane
That ran
between their farms
Her hair, and eyes
were shiny, and dark,
She had simple beauty,
Sweet, gentle charm
He ask if he could see her,
Said, he could hardly wait
She said, I feel the same way
I'll meet you by the Gate
They married in the springtime
Their love grew deeper
Day by day
Not more than a year later
a baby girl came their way
He said, I'll be home early
I can hardly wait
She said, I'll miss you while you're gone
We'll meet you by the Gate
Years passed by,
The children grew
Married and made homes
Of their own
Once more they had each other
And they were home alone
They sat outside together,
She quietly dropped her head
He carried her gently
Into the house,
And sat beside the bed
As she drifted closer
To the end, he said,
I'll miss you,
I'll see you soon,
I can hardly wait
He heard her softly say to him,
"I'll meet you by the Gate."

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
There stood a tree in the front yard
Of an old, run down house in town
It still towered proudly
Refused to be blown down
It stood so high above the rest
All sorts of little birds and creatures
had made their homes and nest there
Amongst its spreading branches
Which in time had changed their shape
Some branches had been torn and twisted
by breezes turned to winds,
blustery storms of life
Even it could not escape
It was not so beautiful any more
But gracious still it stood
Many burdens it had borne
Children's gleeful laughter heard
Tree houses, swings had gloriously held
Never had it been forlorn
For magical memories in its branches dwelled
Its need had been established
Multitudes of years ago
To shade a weary stranger
Or sooth a babies' woe
On a gliding bench beneath
Its gigantic canopy
Leaves rustling gently overhead
Provides sweet melodious symphony
The trunk now gnarled
Bent, twisted , seemingly in pain
Groaned and creaked, its strength to wane
when blustering winds of life demands
Not giving up nor giving in
No matter what befalls
But like the house it proudly stands
An edifice to all
When years pile up and end of life is near
Cling to those precious memories
Of all that's been so dear
when death to each of us
will finally take its toll
We don't compare to that great tree
We know by faith it has no soul
We've made it through the storms of life
Though gnarly we may be
For in the end, we will begin
Life anew, in forever blessed
Eternity

It's a wonder that this world
is still spinning on its axis
with the evil that's gone on
from then to now
It's a wonder God above
still looks down on us in love
and patiently awaits for
our repentance
It's a wonder we don't
listen to all His words
He's given, not to mention
His own son for our salvation
It's a wonder He would bother
to make us slightly lower
than the angels, since we both
are His wondrous creation
It's a wonder that He's made
a place for us to sing His praise
forever and forever
in His presence
It's no wonder if we ponder
all we gain by going yonder
to that eternal place
up in the sky
It's no wonder He will greet us
send the Savior down to meet us
and bid us welcome to
that peaceful shore
There's no need to wonder
'bout the world upon it's axis
or if we'll spin around
out of control
for the very God who made us
will take care of us and guide
us if we let Him
here and now forever more

The winds and the waves
Shall obey His will
Peace be still
Peace be still
All of Nature
Sings His praise
Continues to move as He planned
Only man
The epitome of His image
The crowning of creation
Rebels
The rose bud
Shall and should
Bloom in due time
Gracing our life with
Fragrance and beauty
Owners wait with
Anxiousness
As a new foal
Sired by a 'winner'
Is brought into
The world
To race, like the wind
At Kentucky Downs
Alley cats
As sweet as any
Purebred kitten
Ever born
Can purr
With pleasure
As they are fed and loved
Children in the human womb
Wonderfully made
And known by God
Will be born
In due time
As He designed
Held, nurtured
Cared for, comforted
Kissed and loved
Or will they ?
The winds and the waves
Shall obey His will
Peace be still
Peace be still

through stained glass, light is filtered
rays of son-light, touch the soul
the cross of Christ ever before us
press ye onward to the goal
never falter, never waver
as on bended knee you fall
keep your eye upon the Savior
use your voice, upon Him call
in Jesus' name if you but whisper
our Father's there to answer you
for the Great I Am is listening
tenderly and loving too
take your cares and hopes to Jesus
trust in Him you're all in all
bow before the throne of Mercy
redeemed you once so please don't fall
Obey His will each day He gives you
trust His power, salvation's Grace

Beyond Belief there is a place
Everlasting in the Heavens where hope dwells
Young nor old, colors, gender, nationalities do not exist
Only we.... The Master Shepherd and His fold
No night is there, no tears, no pain, no fears
Day, forever reigns in shining Light, as was foretold
Before time, space and Earth began, it was prepared
Especially for believers, who obey His will, and desire
Life everlasting, in a Family where love is all that's known
In it, a circle of forever, with no beginning, without end
Embark on that journey, and travel, Beyond Belief
For God, who can not lie, is the Keeper of our Soul

By Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens
One day Jesus was sitting at the right hand of God. As they sat together talking about the world and their love for it, He said,
"Since I've come home, Father, I sometimes wonder if maybe I didn't do a good job when I lived below as a human. I tried my best to live the way We would want them to live. I told them I would come back and get them someday. And yes, I told them that I don't know when that will be, only you know. I can read their hearts, some think they don't even need us. That they can make it to Heaven on their own. They are very smart, Father, but not very wise."
Jesus continued, "Their vocabulary is quite extensive, and scientific knowledge is very deep, but their general lack of wisdom, well Father, sometimes it makes me weep."
"It seems they do not listen, not to law, not to prophets or the Word." Jesus said. "I walked with them, and talked with them, it's as if they never heard."
"But Son," said the Father, " I don't slack when I make a promise", I don't want any of them to die, I want them to change their mind and the way they live, so they can be with us by and by."
" I'll continue to be patient and long-suffering, I will delay your return in the clouds until I am sure, not even one more, has the good and honest heart I'm always looking for."
"I repented once I made them, and saved but just a few," the Father sighed.
"And when I must do it again, I'll never start anew."
"I sent you, son, you died once for all, now it's up to them to hear and answer your call."
The Father said, "The body, your Church, is perfect, it is man that's messed it up. That general lack of wisdom you speak about, makes them drink a bitter cup. But some do love us, Jesus, you did not die in vain. Some set their eyes on Heaven, so they have much to gain."
"And wait, I hear the angels rejoicing, so another has returned to the fold. The Word has convicted one and caused a conscience to be touched. We aren't ready to give up on them yet. They need us, Oh so much."
And then God smiled, and said, " My Son, just remember, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom."
Have you ever wondered what They talk about as they view us from up above? I am just so very thankful that, God is love.
