Poetry Contest
Tanka is a five-line poem OR five phrases in five lines, in 31 or fewer syllables, formatted short/long/short/long/long
Tanka:
-involve human nature or the human element
-have a pivot, shift, or turn line
-can have simile; metaphor; personification
-often use a seasonal reference, or nature imagery
-can be enhanced with artwork
-should be titled as follows: tanka (first line of poem) e.g. the title of the poem (below) beginning with the line "oh rising moon" is: tanka (oh rising moon)
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
