OH YE! OH YE! Preen me a Princess!
Poetry Contest
It gives me great pleasure to announce...
Part 2 of the "HEAR YE! HEAR YE! Build me a knight" contest, which was originally created by Xylok.
Can you compose a poem about a Princess? Could be a tantalizing Tatiana with a tiara, a ladette^ with a welding hat, a damsel in distress, a Joan of Arc or a princess of the people.
Your poem can be any style and length you choose but there are some royal commands to follow:
Rule 1 - At least one stanza must include a description of your fair, or not so fair maiden's features... eyes, lips, nose, hair, nose-hair too if you like, 3 legs, 2 heads etc.
Rule 2 - Part of your poem must be humorous, and part must be sad - make us roll on the floor with hysterical laughter, then drown in our own tears of sorrow (or the other way round.)
Rule 3 - You must include 3 of the following phrases. You can include more if you wish, but they must be verbatim.
A ...laced with pink-tinged stars...
B ...as she devoured her blood pudding*...
C ...glass eye shining in the moonlight...
D ...wart on the end of her ring finger...
E ...rampant was his passion for meat...
F ...the juice of the purple poople fruit...
G ...dying for one kiss from his frosty lips...
Rule 4 - The princess should have a triple barrelled surname, which is specified in the poem (or title). For example, Valerie van der Vaal, Tina Tour de Force, The Lady Willemina Wee willy Winky etc... but if you want to make it quadruple barrelled (or more) you go for it!
Rule 5 - Your princess must want (passionately!) one of the following, for which she would be willing to do ALMOST anything:
A a mystical sculpture encrusted with Styrofoam gems
B the pot of treasure at the end of the rainbow
C Fotheringay Castle #
D a penthouse apartment in Manhattan
E a palace made of spider webs and frosted dew
F a jolly good seeing to!
Rule 6 - Have fun!
...and finally... a huge THANK YOU to Xylok for inspiring, sanctioning and encouraging this contest :) I miss you bud!
^ladette is an English term for a woman who acts and dresses more like a lad / man.
