A Tribute to Rod Serling

Write a flash story that contains an opening and closing monologue in the legendary style of Rod Serling. Monologues should be written as if they were to be spoken by Serling during the broadcast of your story as an episode of The Twilight Zone.
Important Rules:
-1000-word maximum
-The monologues are part of your word count
-Must be story-driven fiction
-Must contain an opening Rod Serling-style monologue
-Must contain an ending Rod Serling-style monologue
-Violence warning acceptable, but no language or sex warnings (It should be written with an early 1960's television audience in mind)
-Any story subject acceptable that meets warnings restrictions

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 15.00 member dollars. There are 15 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
