Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
Take a real-life disagreement you had with a neighbor and add fiction to escalate it, using extreme measures if necessary to defend your territory.
If you want to participate and don't have a real-life story to use as a base, you may invent one from scratch, and/or add character(s) that pay you a visit such as: Jehovah's Witnesses, the IRS, Santa Claus.
This is supposed to be an unmoderated contest but for some reason the site won't let me edit to make it unmoderated, so this is a note to the CEC that anything goes for this contest as long as it somehow involves a story about a neighborhood, neighbors, you being visited in your domicile, et cetera. If someone writes about an expedition to Candyland and no domiciles are involved, it is off topic and can be DQd.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 28.00 member dollars. There are 11 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 72.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
