Secrets of the Night
Write a fictional horror, thriller, or paranormal story with a strong main character. No poetry or true stories. 600 words minimum needed to enter the contest.
REQUIRED FIRST SENTENCE: The night is near and the moon is full. Do not change this sentence in any way.
REQUIRED BEGINNING SITUATION: Your made-up character waits in the shadows of a room as the light recedes toward the window. Character can be human or paranormal.
Stories always have three parts and this situation is the beginning. As you continue to write, you will show us who or what waits in that room and why they wait. You will then write the next part, which is the middle, i.e., what happens next. The third part is the end, the final scenes. Does character succeed or fail to get what he wanted in the beginning?
