Thank You Haiku
Poetry Contest
The topic for this poetry contest is to create a 5-7-5 poem in the form of a Thank You Note that is addressed to a real or imagined place you have visited or want to visit. The poem can be serious or funny.
Dear Hudson River (5 syllables) is an example of an opening salutation. Sincerely, Charley (5 syllables) is an example of a closing salutation.
Either the opening or closing salutation MUST be included in your 5-7-5 format. The one not used can or cannot be included with your poem. Remember only one salutation is required for your poem, the second one is a bonus and does not count against the 5-7-5, three lines of text. If you choose to use both salutations, then only three lines of text in the 5-7-5 syllable format is allowed.
Artwork or photograph is strongly suggested, but not required.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Monday, November 1, 2021.
