'Hemispherick' Limerick

Poetry Contest
The topic for this poetry contest is: 'Hemispherick' Limerick

The locations of the members of FanStory span the entire globe - how cool is that?! For this contest you are to write a limerick describing the weather/climate in your particular location for this time of year -- try to give us an idea of what it would be like to live there right now (weather-wise) and make use smile at the same time. BE SURE that the TITLE of your work IS your location. Some examples would be Central France or South Africa or Eastern Ohio [United States] or Northern Japan or...well, you get the idea.

We're not gonna be technically picky here, just make it fun! Generally, a limerick is a bawdy, humorous, or nonsensical verse written in the form of five lines with an aabba rhyme scheme. The b-lines are usually 'shorter' in length....here's an example by Lewis Carroll:

To Miss Vera Beringer
There was a young lady of station
?I love man? was her sole exclamation;
But when men cried: 'You flatter,'
She replied, 'Oh! no matter
Isle of Man is the true explanation.''

And Rudyard Kipling (he's got the right idea about weather here!):

There was a small boy of Quebec
There was a small boy of Quebec
Who was buried in snow to his neck
When they said, 'Are you friz?'
He replied, 'Yes, I is...
But we don't call this cold in Quebec.''

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 70.00 member dollars. There are 4 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.

Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Saturday, January 26, 2019.
