An Epic Star Trek Tale
Write your best Star Trek story or script of at least 1000 words. You may use any Star Trek characters from the various television and movie incarnations. There are endless possibilities, of course. However, you must remain true to established Star Trek parameters. In other words, Dr. McCoy is aboard the original Enterprise, not lost with Captain Janeway on Voyager. Yes, you could have McCoy enter a wormhole and end up on Voyager somehow. The key is, if you have him somewhere OTHER than the norm, his presence should be justified in the story. You may introduce new characters and even species. You may have your story set anywhere in the universe or in an alternate universe.
This may be part one of a longer piece.
Just one picture. No music, animations or marching bands.
All Star Trek television series and movies are easily accessed on YouTube, Netflix, the local library or you can Google them. Again, use your imagination, but be warned, Trekkies know these characters and Star Trek series inside out. So, if your story doesn't ring true, you WON'T get a vote.
A note: I realize that prose is not as prominent as poetry here. So be it. I'd like to point out though, prose, especially SCRIPTS, is where there is money to be made as a writer. If you Google "Star Trek Novels" you'll find hundreds of them by various authors. They ALL made a nice sum of money from them. MANY of them were authors just like most of us who had never published a story. I'm not saying the winning story is going to be the next Star Trek movie. BUT, I'm not saying it isn't either. Just sayin'.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 40.00 member dollars. There are 14 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 180.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Monday, November 12, 2018.
