Valentine's Poetry

Poetry Contest
Write a love poem. But there is a twist. Write a poem where the first letter of each line spells out a word (see an example below). Your love poem can be fictional or non-fictional. It can be humorous or serious. The choice is yours. But it must clearly be a love poem.

Here is an example of an Edgar Allan Poe acrostic love poem titled simply "An Acrostic":

Elizabeth it is in vain you say
"Love not" - thou sayest it in so sweet a way:
In vain those words from thee or L.E.L.
Zantippe's talents had enforced so well:
Ah! if that language from thy heart arise,
Breath it less gently forth - and veil thine eyes.
Endymion, recollect, when Luna tried
To cure his love - was cured of all beside -
His follie - pride - and passion - for he died.

The winner takes away a $100 cash prize. All writers will receive feedback for their submission.

Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
