Personifying Bodies of Water

Poetry Contest
Write a poem personifying a body of water.
You may write of a lake, river, pond, stream, ocean, sea, bay, harbor or any other body of water I haven't thought of here.

The key is to personify the body of water. Make the body of water come alive with human characteristics.

Be sure you UNDERSTAND what personification is BEFORE you enter. I'm including definitions and examples for your perusal.

Any style poem is acceptable. Do NOT try to pass prose off as a poem. Prose poetry is a particular form of poetry distinguished by use of poetic devices clearly distinguishable from regular prose.

One piece of artwork only. All fonts and colors and effects are to be selected from what is available in the Fanstory editor. Nothing is to be imported.

No author's notes to explain your piece. Let it speak for itself. Author's notes will be blank.

excerpt from a piece personifying "winter":

A single snowflake tickles as it lands upon your nose
you laugh for you've forgotten
that I've been in repose
I breathe in deep for I remember
every mocking squeal
and every oh and ah
you've had your time of silliness
to frolic and to feel
it won't be long
with rest, I'm strong
best go inside you don't belong
within the world I'm planning to rebuild
a frozen land of white where
all hope and joy is killed
perhaps you will remember now

I'm Winter

there's no escaping me
I will always be fulfilled.
