If Willy Wrote Limericks

Poetry Contest
This contest arose out of an on-going thread in the Poetry Forum. Your challenge is to summarise any of Shakespeare's plays in the form of a Limerick. Here is my version of Hamlet:

In Denmark when Hamlet was Prince,
His uncle's bad deeds made him wince.
To be, or be not,
Put him right on the spot;
All die - no one left to convince.

Too tough to do it in one Limerick? let's make it a maximum of three. I will monitor the rules, which are few. Each Limerick must have a rhyme scheme of aabba and should make some attempt to follow anapaestic (di-di-DUM) meter. That's it! Small variations to the meter are fine. For example a common one is to drop the first syllable, giving an 8-syllable line (as in my example). Feminine rhyme is also OK - this would add an extra unstressed syllable at the end of the line.

Good luck and have fun!

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 60.00 member dollars. There are only 3 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 72.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.

Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Friday, November 20, 2015.
