Sunset Haiku
Poetry Contest
Write a haiku on the subject of a sunset
Basic rules:
17 syllables OR LESS
(Does NOT have to be 5-7-5 syllables)
3 lines (short/long/short)
Present tense
Two grammatically interconnected lines of concrete imagery in lines 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 and a satori in lines 3 or 1
No caps (except proper names, etc.)
Minimal punctuation
NO personification (attributing human qualities to animal or object)
Artwork allowed
Title like this: haiku (first line)
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Saturday, June 21, 2014.
