I'm a 42 year old husband with two children. My mom died on my 12th birthday. My dad died my freshman year in college. I was all area in basketball receiving a full ride scholarship to Northwood Institute of Midland Michigan. Got in trouble in school after my dad passed away and was kicked out of school. Turned to selling drugs which landed me a 15 to 30 year prison sentence. I was released in March, 2005 and God blessed me with a job in April, 2005. My daughter was born in Nov, 2008 and my son was born Dec 21, 2010. I split up with my kids mom. She went to church and I hit the street once again. My kids mom bought me a TD Jakes dvd for fathers day that I end up watching two months later. God spoke to my heart that day. My kids mom let me listen to a Marvin Sapp cd. I was listening to it as I was working out and when track five come on, I began to cry. I stopped my workout and began to pray. My kids mom invited me to her church as a visitor. The next Sunday I joined the church. That same week I was baptized and a day after my sons second birthday we were married. God spared my life and I am forever grateful to Him. Glory be to God! |

Righteous Riter:
God is awesome. He will bless you in ways that you can't believe. I would like to give a special thank to Amaraherig14 for adding a banner and member pump to my most recent work "Thankful". God is Good. While outside shoveling the snow after a light snow storm, my neighbor helped me out with his snow blower but instead of stopping, I kept on working. When God bless you, don't stop, keep working! God loves you. Much love from the Riter.

gene roush: It has been my experience that everything in life comes from a higher power.
Accept and learn from it all. We are always exactly where we are meant to be it's how we use the present to gain God's presence that is important.

Righteous Riter:
To all inspiring writers: Reviews are important within this site but don't the reviews discourage you. Some reviewers get so caught up in the mechanics that they miss the message. Real talk, everyone is not going to like what you write but keep writing. What's in your heart is way more important than what's in the mind of others. People shoot my work down all the time but I just reload with messages from the Lord. There is no such thing as a perfect poem but there is what I call a pure poem. A pure poem comes from the heart and no matter no much reviewers critique it, it's still pure. Keep writing from the heart and know that no one can do you like you do you. Glory be to God.

| Righteous Riter: I understand exactly what you are saying and I respect that. You can tell when the reviewer is trying to do you or your work no good. Coming in I knew that my work would be under microscope just because of what I choose to write about but I'm cool with that. My work is designed to inspire and encourage others and if the Lord bless me with a chance to write a book, praise His name. One thing I will not do is let a review get me off track. Much love from the Riter.

| Anisa-: Mechanics are important, too. It helps things read better. And there all types of personalities on this site, which is great, I think. People who are more mechanics driven, others more focused on the content, some on characters, logical sequence, etc. It's all helpful in the long run, as long as they're being constructive and not rude.

| sadie girl: I do believe writing from the heart does come from the lord. Sometimes I write something and I go Wow! did I do that. Did that come from me. When words and thoughts flow out of me. I know without a shadow of a doubt it comes from God. I do need help with pucuation, and grammer, also sentence structuring, etc. and I'm grate ful for any feedback I get. reviewers have help me already. Thank you Lord! for leading me to this site. I'm grateful,Sadie Girl

expressions9: I think the message and the mechanics of a poem are both important. What's sad with some reviewers is when they don't agree with the content and then decide to give an offensive and negative review - so uncalled for. We are all here to share our writing and it's much more helpful to give positive or at least constructive (not destructive) feedback, or just skip. Don't be discouraged. No-one can take away the gift God has given you. Useful feedback on the mechanics will always help make us better writers, and that's a good thing. It's all good practice, just like with musical instruments so we may "play skilfully" (as David said in the psalms). I've learnt things I didn't know before since joining the site. Bless you! Keep writing.
PS: Remember too that if you have any concerns you can contact the site admin (click on Contact Us - top right corner)
Blessings!

| Barb Hensongispsaca: I review the ones that I like and can understand. If I read them more than three times to understand, I move on. I would rather save my reviews for ones that I really like than to make statements just to make them amd I hope others do that for me. I also want real reviews and help if I need it. That is why I am here is to share and learn.

| whizpurr ^-^: I like the beautiful philosophy of there being such a thing as a pure poem. I truly agree... it's the ones that come straight from the heart that contain the essence of memorable poetry.

mrsmajor: What an encouraging message you have given us..and I know exactly what you mean..Every poem I write, is intended to bring to the reader something to enjoy, yes, a part of what's in my heart. Some like my work, others do not. It is their choice, yet we can all be friends.
The Love of Almighty God is a part of me, and so I will continue to give Praise to His name whenever I can, throught my words. I do my best, if the mechanics are without merit, then I have no problem with corrections..God is indeed Good, All the time.

Everyday I thank God for His mercy. I thank God for His grace that kept me. Sometimes I want to complain but then I realize that someone is worse off than I am. So be thankful that you are where you are with an opportunity to get where you need to go. Glory be to God!

Sonjalee: I am so happy for you Righteous Riter that you have turned your life around. It takes a brave person to do that and I give you great praise. I just wanted to point out that there are some people who have turned their
lives around with something other than God. Actually, not without God but with help from others and God. And some without God.I am really respect you and I am so happy you haave become a fan of mine. I would like to learn from you. I am facing a big change in my life with surgery that will hopefully help me be more like the old Sonjalee before she got this dreaded disease call Parkinson's disease. This month I will become bald because they shave my entire head before Deep Brain Stimulation surgey. They do this to preventt infection of the surgical area.. Me and my bald head will have to face whatever comes our way.
I guess I focused on your story because my mother became very religeous. It is her life and I am happy she has God to hep her BUT, yes the big But,she upset me the other day when I was talking to her on the phone. She said something like, I want you to find peace with God before your procedure. I do not go to church often;; but I believe in God and we have our own relationship that is private. She said , she thinks it is hard for me to find peace or whatever, I do not really know what she meant, it's hard for me. Anyway, I hung up the phone and broke down in tears of fear about the brain procedure. It is Deep Brain Stimulaation and will help me be more mobile without so many medications. My point is, she was selfish because she felt that she had to tell me to turn to God. I would not mind if she had said that any other time than before this most serious, scary brain procedure. It makes a person feel like maybe I won't make it. She felt better but I felt confused and anxious. Am I gong to die or mayabe have a stroke or some other side effect????????
Hey, I am going on and on, you probably will resign as a fan and I will understand.
I just want people to think before they speak.
I hope you understand that I am a child of God , I just do not talk abouat it often.
thanks for listening.

b1merm96: Your inspirational writes bring encouragement, tenacity and an unwavering need to press on to all. To have faith in God that through Him all things are possible. For just like Sonjalee, I too am praying and believing that through an upcoming surgery I will be free of cerebral palsy. As it says in the Bible IPeter 2:24 that He went to the cross that we may receive His Salvation and by His stripes we are all healed.
Also, 3John-1:2 Where God wishes that we prosper in our health even as our soul propers.
I give thanksgiving to God everyday and praise Him that He has made a way for me to be more than I would ever ask for. Eph.3:20
I admire your work and the greatness you bring to the table daily, as we all should put God first place in our lives. Hallelujah!
