Excellent.
The integrity of self is the guide to happiness. The emotions for another can allow forgiveness, but the redemption of the person who has fallen into the lake of mendacity, has to begin with them. Be supportive but not a slave to emotion.
Some people are toxic, yet clothed with the beauty of a swan and the personality of a pit bull on steroids.
That person maybe a user and an abuser, no trip to the physical or mental Disney Land, will provide a story where you come in and save the person. Do not die in his flames.
Marriage is not just sex, and the highs of flowers and gifts, it is the harsh reality of finding a compatible mate that provides compatibility and integrity.
Move on if the person is now exposed as not compatible for you. Children should not be born into such a situation.
Be careful, you are a special person, not all will treat you with the love and respect you deserve.
Many men move through sexual relationships without love or commitment; it is the conquering that is the goal, to raise a damaged self esteem.
Fortunate are those that see reality, it hurts, but continued deception is demeaning and deceitful, crumbling bricks that will cause the house to fall.

Such a good but sad poem. Your words talking about the reality of life. Many times we are fooled by others, and if it's a loved one, then it is even harder to bear.

I think one of the things that makes it harder, is the inability to walk away. Parents are the reason we exist and as children we feel an obligation to honor that gift from them. They are the reason we were brought into this world and we feel we owe them a certain debt to stand by their side, even when they make irredeemable mistakes in the eyes of society. This five - seven - five seems to be telling a story of betrayal that leads to one or the other or both being locked away. Whether this is metaphorical or not is unexplained in this brief format. Nice.

Thank you for sharing your honest opinion and the positive review. It's both metaphorical and literal, actually. The parent is literally locked away, though the child feels as though they are the one locked away. It's difficult to portray such a heartbreaking emotion in so few lines, hence the author notes and video. I appreciate your time and lovely stars.

You write a very inspiring review and I thank you kindly for your time and compassion. The relationship has definitely taken a fatal wound and the fact that I am unable to make a clean break from it because it is a parent, makes it all the more devastating to endure. Your advice on focusing on other aspects is well received and being implemented as we speak. I am currently working on a children's poetry book in the hopes of finding the light at the end of this dark and dreary tunnel. Your encouragement is truly appreciated. Peace be with you.

He realized that truth is in the eye of the beholder, and perceptions vary depending on your longitude. It's a sobering time of life, when you discern the fact, that our parents, like ourselves, are far from perfect. Although, if the exposed lie is hurtful enough, it might be time to get the razor strap out!
There are, also, some hurts that can never be cured, only endured. Best of luck with your challenge.

Without the notes we would have no way of knowing wht this is about, but then it's not necessary to explain reasons for writing a poem. You might want to write the whole story in prose... woudl be a good read as well as therapy to get it down in words.

Thank you for sharing your honest opinion about the piece. To be honest in return, I actually hesitated in revealing even the smallest bit of info in regards to the personal emotion behind the words simply because I enjoy writing in such a way that anyone who reads my work, can relate to it on some level. I try not to put parameters around my writing, so each individual can personalize it for themselves. I'm new here to FS, so followed the posting layout just to make sure I filled in all necessary fields. Perhaps one day, I will write more on the subject to elaborate, though now is not the right time, since the wound is still fresh. I truly appreciate your advice and the generous stars.
