Hi Dean,

I am not stalking / trolling you...

Margaret Snowdon mentioned this poem to me earlier this afternoon and I thought I would check it out. Really glad I did.

It is packed with such emotion, and feeling on the state of the world. I worry about what we will leave behind for our children, What will our legacy be? And, what will man's legacy be on the world when we are gone?

Great poem - no surprise.
G

Thanks, G-Man. This was one of my more melancholy poems, I feel, but one I felt very deeply about when writing. You're absolutely correct, what type of legacy are we leaving behind for the future? It's a scary thought, much more so than monsters of boogeymen.

Thanks for digging this one up from FanStory obscurity, dusting it off and giving it a shot. One from my kinder, more gentle muse, if you will, heh-heh.

Much obliged, Gareth, and Good Friday to you and yours. :) ~Dean

Hi Dean...

~ I absolutely love this poem and the message it imparts... The graphics just magnify your words...

~ The first line, 'I soar above the heavens, now', just sets the tone...

Well done...!
Keep Smilin'.... Jax

Great poet! This pretty much is exactly what I mean by my poem "I know all there is to know." The world is just so sad today, with exception for people who know how to enjoy life. The first stanza has perfect rhythm- I think my favourite.

This is what I call a masterpiece. I love poems that make you thinka and question what perspective might be from another angle. And once you getan idea it's a challenge to flow your whole idea on paper and you have done a superior job, well put!?

What the hell is THIS?!?

Mr. Kuch sir, how marvellously you have duped me. Your delight in all things dark and un-nerving shows so clearly on the page, but here I see the manacle clown make-up come off, and beneath I see a compassionate human being. You hide your light well beneath your cobwebs and grave dirt, sir, and you put on one hell of a multi-sensory side show whenever you post something, but beneath all the balloons and confetti I see a writer. A damn good one. Your balloons and confetti are merely sauce for the goose, sir.

I had to double check the author when I read this. Is there more than one Dean Kuch here on Fanstory? Alas, no. It IS you, and it is rare that I come across something as profound as what you have written here.

I fly high beside the sil'vry moon
our world, a tear-filled water balloon;

I didn't read this line, I FELT it.

Anyone can write a half-decent bleeding heart poem and get accolades based on the subject alone, and for having the guts to post something so introverted. You, sir, have the talent to back up anything you write. You have proved that to me here. Damn well done.
--Mike

p.s. - It's nice to know that I am not the only one that sees this, either. Congratulations, Mr. Kuch :)

Hah, thanks so much for the fabulous review, Mike. I do make feeble attempts from time to time, to step outside my comfort zone where I'm surrounded by ghouls and ghosts, and write about the real world once in a great while. This was one of those times.

Thanks for the fabulous response. I sincerely appreciate it, Mike!

Beautiful and also so sad. So true. The words flow and take the reader on a rise above the earth, hovering here and there to observe the sadness that exists below. The conveyance of truth, feel, emotion, and description within your words is amazing.

Thank you very much, manicblue. I was very honored to have won this, I've never really considered myself to be a poet. However, I have been deeply touched and blessed in life, and I write and draw from the experiences I see, and feel. I felt very melancholy on that particular day.

Thanks so much for your kind words of congratulations, and your wonderful review!

An extremely touching and moving spirit you have brought to this site.

Your attention to sensual discovery through music and rhyme is an extension of the motion I feel in response.

Thank you for a beautiful post.
