: Storm Clouds by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens

storm clouds hover over the lake
stillness so thick you can feel it

waiting for the first drop of rain
to caress the leaves of the trees
like the welcome touch of a tender lover

wind kicks up, raindrops are driven
harsh and slicing into the early foliage
of springs delicate attire

calm now the storm has passed
the sky returns to an azure blue
flowers sway, birds shake droplets from feathers
God is in His heaven, all's well with the world
