There is something behind me
That is driving me on
But every time I turn to look
It seems that it is gone
I never noticed the wind
Pushing me along
I didn't stop to see
Until I felt it gone
Like a sailor in the doldrums
I struggled on alone
I never felt what pushed me on
Until I had to do it on my own
I've seen it chase the leaves in fall
Turn angry stinging us with hail
Bending trees strong and tall
And billowing the traveler's sail
Now I walk with the wind behind me
With nowhere left to go
The thing I now really see
Is how little that I know
