Lifer by Deniz22 The Prisoner writing prompt entry |
Forty years ago, I’d had it. It was my freedom day. Her blue eyes had entrapped me. 22 and married for three years! Excitement left, six months after the vows. My dissatisfactions grew like barnacles on a hull. Little things, they built up, slowing the ship of matrimony. I packed my gear, left a note: “I gotta be free!” Before I could get out, she came, read and leaned against the wall, crying. I turned to go. Wham! A blonde little girl with her mother’s blue eyes imprisoned my leg and my heart. “Daddy, don’t go!” Still here...and glad.
